neck painNeck Pain and Headaches

Many cases of head pain can be traced to causes in the neck joints and muscles.

The use of specialist osteopathic manipulation can be excellent for relieving these types of head ache. Exercises and stretches and massage of the effected muscles will reduce the muscle tension that is the main cause of simple head pain.

Intramuscular stimulation is a new technique from Canada that uses acupuncture needles to affect the nerves and muscles that cause these problems. The muscle get switched off, relieving the pain.

Some headaches are caused by an illness and your osteopath will make sure that your headaches are not serious before doing any treatment. Usually the head pain can be traced to a muscle or joint in the neck but sometimes special tests are necessary or a referral to another specialist.
